Most well known component is cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but there are over 60 other cannabinoids in cannabis that has no pycho-active effects such as just to name a few: cannabigerol (CBG), cannabidol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabiclsoin (CBE), cannabicyclol (CBL), cannabicitron (CBT).
THC is mainly found on the surface of plants or smaller leaves called trichome glands. Their are two main cannabis plants Indica and sativa, a third group ruderalls has a very low THC and hardly used as a form of medicine. Followed by the cross breeds between Indica and Stavia.
In 2003 the U.S. government as represented by the department of health and human services was awarded a patent on cannabinoids as antioxidant and neuroprotectant, U.S. patent #6630507
The patent states unequivocally that “cannabinoids”are useful in the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of diseases including: stroke, trauma, autoimmune disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s and HIV related dementia.
